The first time to visit flower show. Finally, I can get the depth-of-field shallow enough. I said earlier that digital cameras (cheaper than HK$ 1000) cannot get shallow enough depth-of-field to shoot flower. Actually, I have obtained several photos with my HK$499 camera that have too shallow depth-of-field.
So, I have to take steps to prevent the depth-fo-field to become too shallow (even for small digital cameras).
The method to get such shallow depth-of-field is to use the lens formula we learned in secondary school physics: 1/i + 1/o = 1/f (and f-number) and derive a formula for the depth-of-field. Then we shoot the photos according to this mathematical formula, and one can get the very shallow depth-of-field.
