It depends on your purpose. I was looking at the EM1 and A7 as well. I wanted to get something ligther for travelling as I found carrying a D800+24-120mmf4 had became quite a load for walking around (getting old). After analyzing my needs, I decided to go with the EM1. My reasons are:

1) There are more lens choices for EM1, I also own other M4/3 bodies and lens already
2) M4/3 is weak in ultra-wide lens but I can always bring my D800+20mm (keep in my roller camera case) and take it out with me only when needed.
3) the Oly 12-50mm is f2.8, similar Sony E-mount is f4 (same as my current travel lens).
4) If I ever have a chance going to safari or something, M4/3 tele lens will be much lighter and compact.

I'm also looking for a lighter gears for my trips. I am using D7000 now and I love and satisfy its performance so far, just a little bit tried to carry it along all the time.

Therefore, I hope getting a lighter one which can give me the similar experience.

如果給我選擇
用過萬蚊買部M43機身(EM1)，還是用過萬蚊買全片幅機身(A7II)

我會選擇A7II，係少了防塵防水滴，又無2.8光圈變焦鏡，鏡又少M43好多
不過m43靚鏡也唔平哦

及M43和全片幅晶片，差別太大，現在A7II加入機身防震，不知改善了多少，出了看看評論先再說了，

和sony都有幾支蔡司鏡選擇，
最好的應該係sel55f18，及sel2470z(F4)和sel70200(F4)，都算暫時夠用了

Like I said, the choice depends on your purpose. You want ultimate PQ, A7II is the way to go. If you want low weight and size, M4/3 may suit you better. BTW, just bought the EM1 with 12-40mm kit for just over $12K.
