Pawn shops are something that can still be easily spotted in HK nowadays, but how many of you have actually took a step and walked into this living history of HK?

當押業是中國歷史最悠久的行業之一，相傳起源於唐代。當時佛教的廟宇以濟世助貧為目的，向到廟宇求助的人借出「長生庫」，意思是借錢給他們買東西吃保命，而借錢的人有時需要以屋契或田契等物品作為抵押。

而在香港常見的當舖標誌,其實是蝙蝠含錢的標誌。是仿照一隻上下倒轉的蝙褔含著金錢的形態，有「引褔含錢歸堂」的吉祥意思。廣東省所有當鋪在解放前都採用這個徽號，但在解放後這個標誌在省內已不再復見，反而本港的當鋪則仍然沿用至今。
